Guide O'Level English Language: how to prepare

OJAMB Team

Official guides
Staff member
English Language is required for almost every course, so a credit is essential.

The main sections
  • Essay and letter writing: learn the formats (formal, informal, article, speech, report) and practise writing within the word limit.
  • Comprehension: read the passage once for meaning, then again for the questions.
  • Summary: answer in full sentences and in your own words where asked.
  • Lexis, structure and oral English: practise past questions and learn common patterns.

Tip: write a practice essay every week and ask a teacher or other students here to mark it.
