Direct Entry (DE) lets you enter university at 200 level instead of 100 level, using qualifications other than UTME.

Common Direct Entry qualifications
  • JUPEB and IJMB: one-year advanced-level programmes offered by many universities and centres.
  • A-Levels (for example Cambridge A-Levels).
  • ND, HND or NCE from polytechnics and colleges of education, subject to course requirements.

How it works
  • You still register with JAMB, but for Direct Entry, not UTME. Watch JAMB's DE registration announcements on jamb.gov.ng.
  • You still need the O-Level credits your course requires.
  • Schools set their own grade requirements for DE admission; check the JAMB brochure and the school.
