Biology · Genetics (blood groups)

A man of blood group AB marries a woman of blood group O. Which blood groups are possible in their children?

A. A, B, AB and O
B. A and B only
C. AB and O only
D. O only

Reply with your answer and how you got it, then check below.

Answer: B

Father AB gives either an A or a B allele. Mother O gives only an O allele.
Children are therefore AO (group A) or BO (group B).
No child can be AB (needs A and B from both sides) or O (needs O from both parents).
