Use of English is compulsory, so every mark counts.

What it covers
  • Comprehension and summary passages
  • Lexis and structure: synonyms, antonyms, idioms, sentence completion
  • Oral English: vowels, consonants, stress
  • Questions on the recommended novel (check JAMB for the current title)

How to prepare
  • Read the recommended novel early and make chapter notes.
  • Keep a vocabulary notebook and learn a few words every day.
  • Practise oral English with a pronunciation guide; it is easy marks once you learn the patterns.
  • Do timed past questions and review every mistake.

Post a question you got wrong and explain your answer; others will help you see the rule.
